Experience Our French Horse Riding Holidays in Southern France
Ride and relax in rural France – at Château de Laumière
Join one of Château de Laumière’s French horse riding holidays in southern France, you’ll be warmly invited to experience this beautiful, peaceful corner of the world – and do as much or as little as you like. Family owned and home to Chris, Lynda and Tanya, Château de Laumière offers luxury accommodation in either the château itself or the holiday gîtes – and a truly wonderful environment in which to relax, chill out and ride our lovely horses.
If you take the time to browse our website you will see that we offer a completely different holiday experience to many others in the respect that you have a variety of holiday options. Here at Château de Laumière with your hosts Chris, Lynda and Tanya you can experience the opulent luxury of staying in the actual Château or alternately sample the delights of our holiday gîtes.
Your Riding Holiday
On the horse riding holidays at Laumière, we typically go riding in the mornings, after which you can relax and enjoy a delicious, substantial lunch.
Afterwards, you can either enjoy a lazy afternoon snoozing in the gardens, or by the swimming pool and help yourself to unlimited refreshments.
Alternatively, you can arrange extra riding, explore this fabulous area of southern France with its many sights, attractions and activities. Or perhaps you could take a relaxing massage which, as it was so popular last year, will continue to be available.
Guests at Laumière will find a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, with comfortable, characterful rooms and spacious grounds. You can stay in The Château or our Gites.
In the Château we only cater for a maximum of eight guests at any one time, thus everyone can be sure of our undivided attention should they want it, or alternatively peace and quiet and if you prefer to have a quiet holiday.
Whilst relaxing in and around the Château can help yourselves to refreshments at any time – tea, coffee, soft drinks, locals wines, beer and fresh fruit are always available.
The region where our Château is located is steeped in history and some of the major sites are easily accessible when you book a horse riding in France experience with us. This region has been the subject of various wars (usually with the British!) over the centuries and was originally part of Aquitaine.
The Bastide at Carcassonne is testament to these wars and when visiting this enchanting area you can almost feel yourself being transported back in time. The unspoilt countryside and relative lack of any modern developments make this a premier destination for horse riding France.
Lunch at the Château is either al fresco in the delightful gardens, or in the majestic vaulted dining room. On one day, usually Thursday, you will ride out as usual in the morning before returning to the Château in time to freshen-up before we take a visit to a favourite restaurant of ours for a sumptuous lunch.
Here you will be offered a selection of excellent regional food as approved by Jamie Oliver during his visit to this area when he cooked alongside Monique (the owner) who told us that she didn’t know who he was at the time but thought he was “a very nice boy!”
Horse riding holidays in France are our speciality and your hosts’ expertise in regard to all things equine will become clear to you as soon as you arrive. Our horses are well cared for and not simple Château facilities, they are essentially an extended part of our family, each with their own very individual personality.
Taking into account your riding experience, you will be assigned a horse that fits both your own ability and level of experience. We believe that relaxing is as important as riding, so you’ll also have plenty of time to enjoy all the other aspects of your holiday too!
After several wonderful holidays in Southern France, we (Chris and Lynda) bought our first holiday home which enabled us to spend increasing amounts of time experiencing the hospitality of the people, the relaxing life style and enjoying good French food and wine.
The Château and the horse riding holidays in southern France that are available here mean that we offer not just our business but our passion. We are committed to providing you with the best possible horse riding holidays in France in combination with other activities and attractions that this wonderful region can offer.
