Why France Is The Perfect Horse Riding Holiday Location

FRANCE means many things to many people, but we believe horse riders should regard it as the most perfect place in the world.

It has everything you could wish for in a horse riding holiday.

“Stunning” doesn’t even begin to describe the scenery that awaits you; “glorious” only hints at the warm sun and cornflower-blue skies that grace many a day from the middle of spring to late autumn; and “tranquil” is too loud a word to capture the peace and quiet that will – as you trek along miles of trails through enchanting villages and unspoiled tree-filled countryside – allow you to forget the hustle and bustle and rush of the real world that you have temporarily left behind.

At Château de Laumière, we let our corner of France, in the beautiful, undiscovered, department of Lot, take care of the horse riding holiday scenery. It is, as our guests have discovered, very good at it.

We pick up the rest. We supply the elegant and tranquil 400-year-old château, which adds an extra dash of luxury and romance to any getaway. It sits in about 100 acres of land on the Causse de Limogne, at the southern tip of the Causses du Quercy regional park, and every tastefully decorated room boasts superb views over our beautiful gardens and the surrounding countryside.

We provide the delicious food. Most of the salads and vegetables that appear on your plate are freshly picked from the château’s own garden, while other ingredients are locally sourced where possible.

We will match you to a horse that is right for you. Our stables house more than 20 horses, so we’re sure to find one that you’ll get along with perfectly. After all, you’ll be riding along specially mapped trails for about three hours every day.

You can join us at the stables to groom and tack the horses each morning if you want, or you can leave everything to us, and ease into the château’s daily routine of breakfast, hack, lunch, relax, dine, relax, and sleep.

Between the luxury accommodation at Château de Laumière and the picture-perfect surroundings that only France can provide, we believe we offer the complete horse riding holiday package.

And if you book your 2015 horse riding holiday before December 31, 2014, you can look forward to a wonderful and relaxing luxury equestrian break in France next year at this year’s prices.
